This is coming from the man who seems to be in the know.  TastyTaste of Blood of Kittens has said the following:

”By the end of the next Olympics we will treated to 6th ed Warhammer 40k”

Now that is something that people that follow GW trends have suspected for awhile. So really that is not that earth shattering. What makes 6thed potentially earth shattering is the version of AoBR we will get.

For the first time ever neither Xenos, the Warriors of Roboute Guilliman, or the Sledgehammer of the Emperor will be chosen to fill the starter box.

What that means well all of us will have to wait to find out…

Now, anybody who follows 40K rumors knows that Blood of Kittens has a great track record going on their rumors.  First Blood Angels, then Dark Eldar, now Grey Knights have all proven true. So, looks like a new edition by then end of the summer of 2012

  1. I don’t know, sixth edition in 2012 is pretty solid. I just hope Chaos come after the change and I actually hope they don’t come in the starter. I don’t need AOBR quality CSM popping up everywhere.

  2. Xerohack says:

My guess is either Chaos Marines and Sisters or Another Marines Codex (Dark Angels?) and Chaos Marines or Daemons.

  3. Ill go with Imperial Guard and CSM as they seem to grab an old and an upcoming as of late.

  4. Biskelion says:

You know what would be nice Necron. They have the oldest codex out now that Dark Eldar are new.

  5. Xerohack says:

I have heard Necrons are after Grey Knights. We’ll see.

We won’t be seeing them in the starter set if this is right, though, as it states no Xenos. Sorry, Biskelion.

  6. Oaka says:

I can only imagine it would be Chaos in the starter box, as they are the only ‘bad’ non-xeno. As for a ‘good’ force that isn’t Space Marines or Imperial Guard, I can only think of Sisters or (fingers crossed) Adeptus Mechanicus.

  7. Xerohack says:

Adeptus Mechanicus would be AMAZING. We can only hope.

  8. Azrael says:

For the first time ever neither Xenos, the Warriors of Roboute Guilliman, or the Sledgehammer of the Emperor will be chosen to fill the starter box

So no Xenos: Tau, Necron, Tyranid, Orc, Eldar, Dark Eldar are out.

No Ultramarines but It doesnt say no space marines so it will be definetly a space marine chapter.. so recently updated codex let the grey knights, blood angels and space wolves out.

No Sledge hammer of the emperor: so no Sisters of battle

So the only armies that can come in the box are

    Black Templars or
Dark Angels or v s Chaos
    Imperial Guard

  9. plaguebear1 says:

It would be grand for it to be Dark angels vs. the fallen with the fallen. Then the fallen would be incorperated into the CSM.

  10. Archasimos says:

God I hope they don’t do another edition, or at the very least if they do I really hope they don’t start relaunching all the codices again. Yeah some of them need to be updated for 5th still, but I’m tired of seeing them restart codices.

  11. Oaka says:

The marketing side of me feels that if Games Workshop really thinks ahead, they would name the starter box Dark Millenium and have armies representing the two factions in the upcoming MMO (Black Templars and Chaos). Then, computer gamers who like the MMO would have an appetizing starter set to get into the miniature game.

It even follows with the rumors of it not being Ultramarines or a Xenos race in the starter.

  12. Rodtheworm says:

“No Sledge hammer of the emperor: so no Sisters of battle”

The Sledgehammer of the Imperium usually refers to the Imperial Guard, contrasted with Space Marines being the scalpel.

  13. killer says:

just hope for space marrines WITH OPTIONS FOR GK DA BT AND U CAN DO SALAMANDDER ULTRAMARINES ETC

  14. killer says:

    also compatable with 5th edition

  15. killer says:

They should make a GK boxed set
